Chapter 7 I feel like was useful to me as I understood when it is appropriate to cite sources. I often paraphrase when I am writing, and I am usually responsible and cite when I use outside information, but sometimes it is difficult to remember where you found some information. I was familiar with MLA formatting but I didn't really realize that there are so many different source types that can be cited in MLA. In the future I will be more aware of bookmarking or keeping a working bibliography so that I don't have to go back and look for the information all over again. Obviously plagiarism is a serious offense, and can be a big issue when writing. Chapter 7 helps prevent accidental or plagiarism without intent, such as neglecting to cite sources even if you don't directly copy someone else's work. I can also use the chapter as a reference whenever I need to figure out how to cite a bizarre source such as a social media post or something that I'm not familiar with.
